Sponsoring Sarreyat Ramallah (First Ramallah Group) Women’s Football Team
With an aim to motivate and empower female athletes, NBC has been sponsoring the Sarreyat Ramallah (First Ramallah Group) women’s football team since 2010. This represents part of our commitment to empower women in Palestine and fulfilling our social responsibility towards youth with regard to sports in our country.
Establishing Palestine’s first grassroots basketball training School
In a context in which Palestinian youth lack the resources needed for sporting activities, NBC has taken the lead. Putting into practice our vision to contribute to building active, healthy communities, we have provided financial support, in partnership with the Orthodox Club, to enable Palestine’s first grassroots basketball training school to be established.
Supporting the first basketball team in Jerusalem
NBC has supported the first basketball team in Jerusalem since 2009, meeting its social responsibility to support youth and sports in Palestine, and particularly in Jerusalem.
Sponsoring Al-Bireh Youth sports teams
NBC sponsors Al- Bireh Youth sports teams, aiming to promote sports development for grassroots and apprentices that include both male and female participants.
Coca–Cola Institutions Soccer League 2013/2014
NBC sponsored an Institutions Soccer League organized by a public committee in Al-Bireh. Fourteen institutions from the private and public sector, which included the NBC team, participated in the league.
Supporting Dunya Women’s Cancer Clinic
NBC donated medical equipment for diagnosing breast cancer to Dunya Women’s Cancer Clinic, where patients are in need of medical and psychological support.
Ripple of Happiness (ROH)
NBC launched the Ripple of Happiness program at Palestinian universities. This program is a youth empowerment initiative that trains university students to identify opportunities in their communities and motivates them to implement projects that will have a positive impact within their communities.
Environmentally Friendly Schools Initiative
NBC sponsored the Environmentally Friendly Schools Initiative in cooperation with the Nablus and Ramallah municipalities. The primary aim of this project is to develop students’ environmental awareness, understanding of how to utilize natural resources wisely and support for environmental initiatives.
Maan Nakoun Championship
NBC sponsored all the beverages for the 14 day Maan Nakoun basketball championship organized by the Palestinian Basketball Federation. The First Ramallah Group hosted 12 teams for the championship.
NBC sponsored the second stage of the Intajuna project, which aims to promote a culture of quality in the Palestinian market and shift purchasing patterns in order to increase the demand for local products.
Nominations for best player
In partnership with Palestinian sports agency Palsport, NBC conducted a poll to nominate the best basketball player in Palestine in 2007. The top three nominees were honored by NBC at a special event.
NBC participates annually in the blood drive held by the National Blood Bank. We donate to the national blood a free juice to donors in various parts of the country.
Bilkent University Scholarship
In Yearly bases Coca-Cola Foundation is offering scholarships to nine Palestinian students to attend Bilkent University in Turkey, promoting international education and opening doors for outstanding Palestinian youth to be exposed to international standards in higher education.
NBC works in cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations in Gaza and the West Bank and the creative initiative Injaz Palestine to provide Palestinian youth with good international educational opportunities. This scholarship represents an important component of this project. By 2013, more than 25 students from different Palestinian universities have taken advantage of this scholarship.
Supporting the Palestinian Standards Institute
NBC equipped a hall to be used for promotions for the Palestinian Standards Institute, which oversees national production and promotes a culture of excellence throughout the country in the manufacturing and services sectors. The aim is to use the space for activities to acquaint the public with the work of the Institute and raise the awareness of Palestinian consumers around the importance of quality in production.
School open days
NBC participated in the two open days held at the Friends Schools in Ramallah, donating products for both students and visitors.
Sponsoring the Martyrs’ Basketball Competition
NBC offered care and support to athletes at the Martyrs’ Basketball Competition in Ramallah in 2006, by offering water products. Sprite was the official drink of the tournament.
Supporting victims of war in Lebanon
In response to the call by the Palestinian National Committee to provide aid to the Lebanese people, NBC provided moral support to victims of the war in Lebanon.
Sponsoring the Ramallah Walkathon
At the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy we are committed to the principle of achieving better health for everyone. To promote this, we sponsored a walkathon in Ramallah in 2006 dedicated to encouraging and promoting a healthier life. Arwa water was the official drink of the event.
World Health Day
NBC donated a significant quantity of beverages for the World Health Day conference "Investing in Health to Build a Safer Future" which was held in Ramallah. The company also donated 160 school bags for children who attended the conference from across the West Bank.
Birzeit University Team
NBC sponsored the Birzeit University basketball team at the Arab Universities Basketball Championship in 2007. NBC covered the costs and took care of logistics for the team as well as supplying the team with uniforms emblazoned with the Sprite Slogan.
International Worker's Day
NBC has celebrated International Workers’ Day throughout its history, expressing our appreciation to our employees and to the broader labor community across Palestine.
Honoring elderly and martyred athletes
NBC has sponsored events organized by the Ministry of Education youth and sports directorates across the West Bank to honor sports heroes of the past – those who are now elderly and those who have lost their lives.
Palestinian Children’s Day
On Palestinian Children’s Day, NBC sponsored activities at the week-long Children’s Festival in Nablus and the Palestinian Festival of Childhood and Education in Gaza, along with events organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Bethlehem, the Children’s Center for Culture and Development, Tamer Institute for Community Education and the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, by typing leaflets and providing accommodatio
"Boyoutna Helwi wi Bitaamar" Campaign
NBC sponsored the "Boyoutna Helwi wi Bitaamar" Campaign, in which 104 sets of paint were distributed to fifth grade students in Gaza Strip and the West Bank to facilitate their participation in the competition, which was launched last March. During this competition, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education collected the creative works of all participants.
Ard wa Wared Exhibition
NBC sponsored an exhibition by Palestinian photographer Osama Al Selwady titled Ard wa Wared (Land and Roses) which featured the natural environment in Palestine. NBC’s support was aimed at developing skills among the youth and expressing the company’s concern for the environment.
Campaigns to support local products
NBC has participated in a number of campaigns to raise support for local products. In addition to its participation in an exhibition featuring locally produced foods, NBC has provided incentives and contributed to a number of activities, such as the campaigns to support local products organized at Palestinian universities.

At NBC we pay particular attention to our employees, who represent the broader Palestinian society. As part of our commitment to social responsibility, NBC employees have participated in selecting which social issues need the most urgent support. NBC takes every opportunity to demonstrate its care and appreciation towards its employees, which are its most valuable asset.
Sponsoring the Men’s First Class Basketball Tournament
NBC sponsored 28 teams from the Palestinian Basketball Federation from across the West Bank and Gaza Strip, for a basketball competition held in 2006 – the first of its kind in 15 years. Sprite was the official drink of the competition.
University Sports Days
NBC sponsored the Paralympics games at Birzeit University in 2005 and 2006 and honored the winners.
Supporting the Palestinian National Team
NBC, in partnership with the Palestinian Football Federation and Palestinian sports association Palsport, organized a celebration honoring players from the Palestinian National Team. In a poll conducted by Palsport in cooperation with the Palestinian Football Federation, fans nominated the best players from the team.
Sponsoring Sport Cadets Year and opening two training centers
NBC is an enthusiastic supporter of the Sports Cadets Year project organized by the Palestinian Ministry of Youth and Sport. The project aims at developing the sporting ability of young girls and boys, as well as providing them with opportunities to channel their emotions and energies into positive activities which support their own well-being and the good of the society.
Sports Training center
Inspired by the Sports Cadets Year project, NBC has put its support behind a football training center for girls that has opened in Bethlehem and a tennis center for girls that has opened in Nablus. These initiatives provide support to girls interested in sports and provide opportunities to develop their skills.
Ramallah Film Festival
NBC supported the Ramallah Film Festival in 2004, reflecting our commitment to the arts and to youth initiatives. NBC donated two air tickets as prizes for the winners of the Best Director Category at the Festival.
NBC sponsored the Fawanees Dance Troupe, which has put on numerous performances at the Culture Palace in Ramallah. The group, which is comprised of 60 children, performed the story of the "Little Lamp" by Palestinian writer Ghassan Kanafani.
The Paper Kites Festival
NBC provided sponsorship for children in Ramallah to participate in the Paper Kites Festival, facilitating a festive atmosphere and promoting participation in both local and national events.
Heart to Heart Team
With support from NBC, the Heart to Heart team has presented numerous interactive performances to children in different Palestinian cities. The fun, interactive show is built around audience participation.
Birzeit University Camp
Motivated by its concern for education, NBC sponsors the summer camp at Birzeit University annually.
NBC sets aside some of its resources to support students in need. The company has offered scholarships to students at Al-Najah University, Birzeit University and other Palestinian institutions.
From the Heart of Palestine
NBC conducted a campaign to promote Palestinian products titled "From the Heart of Palestine" in coordination with other companies from the public and private sectors. The campaign, which used the slogan "let's make the heart of Palestine beat", aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of supporting high quality Palestinian products and attempting to influence views in this regard.
Fieldtrips to NBC bottling plants
Motivated by its concern for children and its commitment to causes concerning children, NBC has offered fieldtrips to children of different ages to invite them to take a closer look at our operations and build relationships with our staff. Hundreds of fieldtrips have been organized, during which the bottling processes were demonstrated and children were shown how high standards are maintained and energy conserved in the environment and operations of the plant. The fieldtrips teach children about making a valuable contribution to their society economically and caring for the environment, as well as the importance of investing in human resources in order to protect the jobs of the hundreds of Palestinian NBC workers who have employment despite the adverse conditions under which Palestinians live.
The "Hakawi Zghar" Project
NBC provided support to the Hakawi Zghar project in cooperation with the Safar Lil Fonoun team. Hakawi Zghar was broadcast on local television networks and could be viewed by children in any area of Palestine. The program encourages children to participate in story telling activities and act out the stories with the storyteller, while emphasizing active thinking, interaction and participation.
