National Beverage Company furnishes the Vocational Training Unit Project at Ramallah Vocational Girls School




 

Ramallah – The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, has completed a project involving the provision of equipment and furniture to the Vocational Training Unit at Ramallah Vocational Secondary Girls School, Hotel Branch, affiliated to the Ramallah and Al Bireh Directorate of Education. NBC provided the school with all the requirements and supplies for the Vocational Training Unit, Hotel Branch, including kitchenware, restaurant ware, furniture, and the requirements for the hotel rooms in the Unit.

 

Ramallah Vocational Girls School was recently established. It comprises three branches: Industrial Branch, Housekeeping Branch, and Hotel Branch, which include a set of major courses such as graphic design, interior design and décor, website design, fashion, and cosmetics. The school aims to provide the Palestinian market with graduates who can meet the market demands.

 

Dr. Basri Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, praised NBC for its constant support in consistence with the Ministry’s policy for developing the vocational field and its program. New vocational schools are built and vocational units are established in academic schools in order to provide our students with more opportunities to enroll in vocational education which has been increasingly demanded during last years, thanks to the Ministry’s policy. The Ministry introduces programs integrating the vocational education into the basic education to enhance our students’ orientation towards the vocational education.

 

Mr. Imad al- Hindi, General Manager of the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC), emphasized that his Company has always been keen to sponsor projects that academically and vocationally help develop the students.  He also pointed out that the project in question reflected the interest in developing the vocational and craftsman education as well as developing the capabilities of the students in the school so that they could easily and directly engage in the labor market. He also ascertained that the vocational education is the basis of economic development and that special attention should be given to the industrial and vocational skills of the students as a part of supporting the educational process and developing all sectors.

 

Mr. al-Hindi said that vocational education is on high demand in the labor market because it is associated with the market needs at present and in the future. Accordingly, unemployment would decrease and efficient workforce would increase. He added: “such programs are tool for enhancing the students’ capabilities and help them unleash their ideas to create private projects. This is what NBC aims at through its continuous support and encouragement of these projects. We are always interested in developing the students’ skills through providing them with assistance and support in the educational process.”

 

Mr. al-Hindi indicated that “this achievement is a part of a series of continuing achievements between NBC and Ministry of Education. It focuses on developing the vocational education sector in Palestine, which has economic importance and advantage.” He also praised the cooperative relationship and strategic interdependence between NBC and Ministry of Education for supporting, processing, and developing the vocational education making it stronger.” He also said, “We will always seek to enhance the partnership with the Ministry in the interest of the society.”

 

It is noted that NBC actively took part in a group of projects for the interest of education and Palestinian market to achieve the sustainable development and economic growth, such as furnishing, equipping, and extending internal computer network in the vocational unit of Bethlehem Secondary School for Girls and equipping and furnishing a fashion design workshop in the vocational unit of Aqab Moufdi Secondary School for Girls / South Nablus. NBC also equipped two vocational training and education workshops in Abdel Qader Al Qadi Vocational Secondary School for Girls and Boys located in Surif Town and controlled by North of Hebron Directorate of Education; the first workshop is for cloth design and production while the other is for cosmetics. NBC also established a vocational training unit in “Al Khansa’a” School and renewable energy workshop in Deir Al Balah Industrial School in Gaza.
