Organized by MENA Catalyst, National Beverage Company Sponsors Humanitarian Relief Hackathon in Palestine




 

Ramallah - The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) offered sponsorship to the Humanitarian Relief Hackathon for the current year 2021 in the form of covering the promotional aspect of the event. The hackathon which was organized by Mena Catalyst Foundation and held in partnership with the Palestinian ICRC from 11th to 14th of November witnessed the participation of 50 graduates from various governorates of the Western Bank.

 

The event revolved around the graduates offering creative solutions to the judging committee, which in their turn selected three innovative projects in Information Technology field. These projects shall participate in developing the humanitarian and relief work in Palestine, and facilitating the humanitarian relief work offered by relief and international foundations to Palestine, spearheaded by the ICRC.

 

Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of NBC, confirmed that offering sponsorship for this event is of crucial importance for promoting the humanitarian work in Palestine. This is achieved through creating technical and innovative technology that would offer simple solutions that facilitate medical service work in times of conflict, or aid civilians and marginalized communities to access urgent humanitarian relief.

 

He went on referring to the importance of supporting creative and pioneering youth who aspire to making a difference to the better, and commending the hackathon efficiency, which has become a widespread culture. This is thanks to the event has become a gathering point for contestants passionate mainly about the field of technology and entrepreneurship, and with expertise in various technical, scientific and software fields. This is with the aim of accomplishing a certain pioneering project that directly addresses certain needs and provides communities with solutions.

 

For his part, Ghassan Amayreh, representing MENA Catalyst Foundation, extended thanks to NBC for sponsoring the significant event aiming to enabling and promoting humanitarian relief work and programs in Palestine, especially under the current unstable circumstances. This is a mere reflection to the necessity of focusing on creating software and technological solutions that facilitate humanitarian relief work and missions, so they can keep on servicing local community in the best manner possible.
