National Beverage Company  contributes to the furnishing of a lab in the Faculty of Agriculture of Palestine Technical University – Al Arroub Branch




 

 

 

 

The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) contributed to the provision of equipment for the Gardening Lab at the Faculty of Agriculture of Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie (UTP), Al Arroub Branch in the City of Hebron, within the scope of the ongoing cooperation between NBC and PTU that aims at supporting the education process and contributes to the creation of a proper environment for the student through their learning process.

Mr. Imad al-Hindi, the General Manager of NBC stated, "Under its strategy, NBC has endeavored to dedicate a significant part of its support through meeting its social responsibility obligation for the benefit of educational institutions and empowerment of the education infrastructure in Palestine. In this context, the equipping of the lab of Al Arroub Faculty, affiliated to Palestine Technical University was made to provide a source for processional resources qualified to transfer expertise to the Palestinian community after graduation".

Mr. al-Hindi considered that the solid relationship linking NBC with the education institutions plays a vital role at the level of support of various fields in the area of vocational education and training of students.  He pointed out that tens of students have made use of the ongoing cooperation between  NBC and PTU in the past months.

 

 

On his part, Dr. Bilal Yunus, Head of the Palestine Technical University – Al Arroub Branch commended the efforts exerted by NBC to furnish the lab, which will provide the Palestinian market with qualified resources and agricultural engineers who are capable to transfer their experience to the Palestinian agricultural projects, and to achieve a qualitative progress at this level in the future. Dr. Yunus pointed out that the furnishing and equipping of the plantation gardening lab and botanical protection will play a leading and benchmarking role for Palestinian farmers, especially in the cities of Hebron and Bethlehem, to which most of the faculty students belong.

It is worth mentioning that Palestine Technical University – Al Arroub Branch has around 1400 students from Hebron and Bethlehem governorates; and strives to achieve its vision of developing a productive and sustainable Palestinian community.
