The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) and De La Salle Club signed an agreement at NBC’s headquarters in Ramallah to sponsor the youth basketball team of the De La Salle Club. The agreement was signed in the presence of Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of NBC, Mr. Hacob Banian, President of the De La Salle Club, and Mr. Serri Couba, member of the Board of Directors and Manager of Social Activities & Public Relations at the De La Salle Club.
During the signing event, Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of NBC, said: “We have a huge responsibility towards the young generation, and we work hard to create favorable conditions to develop their skills, and provide the appropriate sports environment to help them raise their ambitions”. Mr. al-Hindi indicated that NBC is committed within its strategy and community responsibility to support the youth and promote the sporting activity in Palestine.
Mr. al-Hindi pointed out that NBC is keen to continue its cooperation with the De La Salle Club which dates back to 2006, noting that this partnership has yielded many sport successes over the past years, especially in the basketball field, as De La Salle Club won many national championships.
Mr. Hacob Banian, President of the De La Salle Club, said that he appreciates the continuous support provided by NBC for the De La Salle Club, and he asserted that the Club is working hard to invest in the youth talents and provide opportunities for the basketball talents in Jerusalem and Palestine. Mr. Banian noted that the De La Salle Club is always working to prepare teams in different age groups, and concentrate on building junior and youth teams. He also noted that the De La Salle Club seeks to have a clear role and perform multiple sporting activities at the old town in Jerusalem and the in city as a whole.
NBC seeks to sponsor team sports, such as basketball and football, and individual sports, such as equestrian games and fencing, out of its faith in the youth potentials, and it works on manifesting these potentials in different games. NBC further seeks to highlight the role of the young people in the Palestinian society, thanks to their ability to make the change needed in the society towards a promising future.
