National Beverage Company supports the Child Creativity Association through its Empowerment of Children with Disabilities Project




Beitunia - The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) provided support to the Project of “Empowerment of Children with Disabilities”, implemented by the Child Creativity Association at Beitunia. NBC has provided the Child Creativity Association with all the supplies and materials required for the Project.
 
The Project which includes 25 child aims at providing children with disabilities with some craftwork skills, skills of recycling, using of environmental tools, and teaching them the handiworks, crafts, and arts in order to network with a number of related institutions and entities to provide those children with a source of income and to integrate them in the labor market after they reach the age of 15 years.
 
Concerning such support, Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of NBC, noted that: “implementing the Project of Empowerment of Children with Disabilities comes in line with NBC’s strategy which considers the empowerment and support of persons with disabilities as a paramount priority, and seeks to refine their academic, craft, or sport skills in order to properly integrate them in their communities”. Mr. al-Hindi commended the efforts of the Child Creativity Association stating that he is pleased to support the efforts and ambitions undertaken by the Association for the children in Ramallah, Al-Bireh, and Beitunia.
 
Mr. al-Hindi also praised the idea of integrating the children with disabilities and paving the way so that they can engage in the labor market, which is the aim of the Project. He noted the importance of helping children with disabilities of this age group to have their own source of income after assisting them to refine their skills and abilities in the various lines of work.
 
On her part, Re’al Mostafa, Director of Ramallah & Al-Bireh branch of the Child Creativity Association, indicated that the Children Empowerment Project is all about recycling of waste and using of the environmental tools by the children with disabilities in the age group 10-16 years and transforming such waste to shapes and tools that can be showcased and sold; such as creating of plant pots and first-aid boxes. She noted that the Association seeks to organize a fair next year to showcase and sell the handicraft products created by the children.
 
Mostafa pointed out that the Child Creativity Association was founded in 1996 with its head office located in Salfit and it is led by its Director Dr. Nafez Khalil, and it mainly aims at developing the children’s abilities in all aspects of life, especially the children with disabilities. It also aims at fostering the children from early childhood until the age of 21 years. She added that the Association distributes clothes and food packages on the children’s families and helps their mothers to provide income sources for the family. Further, the Association contributes in providing the costs of treatment of the children with disabilities through the donations raised from the benefactors.
