National Beverage Company donates Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Equipment to “Al-Quds Society for Rehabilitation” in Shuafat Camp

Ramallah- Al-Hayat Economic - TheNational Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) provided sports equipment and supplies to develop the Physiotherapy Unit inAl-Quds Society for Rehabilitation and Special Education (QSR) in Shuafat Camp, with a view to equip the unit that provides treatment services for hundreds of patients and QSR affiliated members. 
A number of sports equipment was delivered to QSR, including treadmills, movement equipment, and a physiotherapy device. In doing so, NBC supports the Physiotherapy Unit in QSR to be capable of providing integrated treatment services for persons with disability, patients with spine and rheumatic diseases, and victims of accidents, as well as patients with certain neurological diseases.
On this occasion, Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of NBC, emphasized that this donation comes in line with NBC efforts to proceed with meeting the needs of local communities all over the Palestinian cities, villages and camps.  Additionally, the donation stems out NBC’s complete awareness of the increasing need to develop the societies concerned with and take care of persons with disabilities who are highly motivated from the different age groups. This in turn secures decent and easy life for them and provides them with the various supplies that would help their rehabilitation and reintegration in the society, as well as improving the level of health care provided to them.     
Mr. al-Hindi expressed his pleasure to have the opportunity to cooperate with QSR, which plays an important and critical role for the persons with disabilities in Shuafat Camp and the neighboring areas.  He also underscored NBC’s commitment since its establishment 20 years ago to empower the populations of marginalized areas and provide support to the underprivileged groups, especially in the areas of camps experiencing very difficult living conditions.  NBC also hopes that equipping QSR Physiotherapy Unit would help the patients through providing an efficient treatment environment close to their homes.
On her part, Ashjan Abdul Rahman, QSR Director, appreciated NBC’s commitment to societal responsibility and thanked its donation of the necessary equipment to fully equip the specialized hall in the Physiotherapy Unit. She invited the national companies and institutions of the private sectors to follow the model of NBC initiative and provide more support for the societies and associations taking care of the persons with disabilities, especially those operating Jerusalem regions and camps.    
Ms. Ashjan indicated that QSR receives about 450 people with disability from different age groups, as it is doing its best to provide them with the basic services and the required guidance and psychotherapy. It also seeks to reintegrate them into their communities and in vocational and educational areas. Moreover, she pointed out that QSR management continuously endeavors to provide the supplementary medical tools, including, walking sticks, wheelchairs and the like.
