In Partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy Distributes 6000 School Bags in West Bank and Gaza Governorates




Ramallah – Al-Hayat Al-Jadidah – The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) announced the completion of its annual campaign “Back to School 2016” in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Smile of Hope to Care for Cancer Patients in Gaza and other Charitable Society, Mohammad Al-Bashir Al-Ibrahimi School and Fares Al-Arab for Development and Charity Works. The campaign involved the distribution of 6000 school bags in a number of West Bank and Gaza governorates.
 
Dr. Sabri Saidam, Minister of Education and Higher Education, expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation and partnership between the Ministry and NBC.  He praised the Company for its 10-year long commitment towards the Education Sector.  NBC organized and focused its efforts to support the Directorates of Education and to continuously contribute to the educational process by provision of school bags to students in need in West Bank’s remote regions.  He also praised NBC’s efforts in the context of social responsibility properly applied and its permanent leading role in the fields of education and culture, whether at the beginning of or during the school year, by providing in-kind and financial support which achieves development in the educational sector and facilitates the educational process for teachers and students.
 
Dr. Saidam added, “Our educational goal agrees with NBC’s vision since the Ministry intensively seeks to develop the educational process at schools in the context of our national responsibility towards our people.  In turn, NBC supports our efforts and contributes to the success of such efforts as part of its social responsibility”.
 
He also said, “Our continuous partnership with NBC resulted in several progress and initiatives which had positive impact upon our students and the educational sector in general. NBC is apparently committed towards this category and this sector as education is a right for all despite the economic or social conditions which hinder obtaining this right by children".
 
On his part, Mr. Imad al-Hindi, NBC General Manager, expressed NBC’s pride to continue its fruitful partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in implementing its annual campaigns. He appreciated the efforts of Minister Saidam and the Education Directorates’ staff who is going to have the role of distributing bags for students in need and underprivileged in remote and marginalized regions in West Bank’s governorates, in addition to orphans and children of poor families and children with special needs.
 
Mr. al-Hindi confirmed that “3000 bags will be distributed in West Bank and another 3000 in Gaza”.  He added that NBC has endeavored to reach the students with special needs and orphans in the schools of Gaza governorates as part its campaign.
 
3000 school bags were distributed to students in need in Gaza governorates in cooperation with and under the supervision of Smile of Hope to Care for Cancer Patients in Gaza and other Charitable Society, Mohammad Al-Bashir Al-Ibrahimi School and Fares Al-Arab for Development and Charity Works. They distributed the bags to a number of child hospitals, orphan children institutions and a number of other institutions, clubs and associations, especially those taking care of cerebral palsy, cancer and thalassemia patients.
 
On his part, Sami Al-Jojo, the General Coordinator of Smile of Hope to Care for Cancer Patients in Gaza and other Charitable Society appreciated the good gesture of NBC, hoping that the support and cooperation will continue.
