Signed two agreements with Al-Kafreyat Municipality to lay a standby water line for the area... NBC inaugurates a health center at Kufur Zibad




Ramallah- Al-Hayat Economy - The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy celebrated the completion of Kufur Zibad Health Center Development Project, with a joint donation from the company and Mohamed Amin Al-Saady, one of the charitable businessmen at Kufur Zibad.
 
The Center was inaugurated in an official ceremony which was attended by Mr. Zahi Khouri, Chairman of the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy, Dr. Abdel Fattah El-Darak, Health Director of Tulkarm Governorate, Abdul Ghani Morshed, Chief of Al-Kafreyat Municipality, and Farouk Ghanayem, Head of Kufur Zibad reconstruction committee. NBC signed an agreement to build a backup water line by supplying the villages of Kufur Zibad, Kufur Abboush, and Kour with water in cases of water outages, especially in the summer. Further, NBC signed an agreement to connect Cappy factory, which is affiliated to the NBC, with the backup water line. Both agreements were signed by Abdul Ghani Morshed and Zahi Khouri.
 
Concerning the support provided by NBC to Al-Kafreyat Municipality, where Cappy factory is located, Mr. Khouri affirmed: "we realize the increasing needs of our people in Kufur Zibad and the adjacent villages, especially in terms of the provision of advanced health services, handling water shortage problems, helping the farmers, and developing the infrastructure in the area which suffers from poor resources". Mr. Khouri added: "through these projects we hope to serve our people at Al-Kafreyat, with whom we have good relationships, especially that Al-Kafreyat hosts Cappy factory and the northern branch of  NBC, which both hire 100 permanent employees and 33 temporary employees of Al-Kafreyat population. Therefore, we are committed to develop and improve the services provided to Al-Kafreyat population". He pointed out that NBC has sought participation in the provision of medical services to the people of Kufur Zibad and the surrounding municipalities, which will save the time of the people of this area, besides saving them the trouble of travelling to find sophisticated health and laboratory services.
 
Mr. Khouri emphasized the importance of holding partnerships with the official and local foundations to develop the marginalized areas which are rich in human potentials and natural resources which should be invested and employed to support the remote areas and to enable them to handle the challenges.
 
Concerning the opening of a medical center at Kufur Zibad, Dr. El-Darak said the Ministry of Health appreciates implementing such health projects in collaboration with NBC. "At Tulkarm Governorate Health Directorate, we are proud of the continuous partnership with NBC toward providing citizens with the best health service, especially in the villages and towns located at remote areas from the Palestinian cities", said El-Darak. He added that boosting the capabilities of this medical center and equipping it with state-of-the-art devices saves the citizens of Al-Kafreyat area the trouble of travelling to down town for treatment. Al-Darak thanked NBC for continuous attention to the health sector, noting the donations and contributions provided in this field, where NBC implemented the child library project at Martyr Thabet Thabet Hospital at Tulkarm late 2014.
 
He also encouraged the municipality and donors to develop the medical centers at Kufur Sour village. In the conclusion of the opening ceremony, El-Darak presented trophies to Zahi Khouri, Farouk Ghanayem, Mohamed Amin El-Saadi, and Abdul Ghani Morshed.
 
On his part, , Ghanayem said the population of the town appreciates the efforts made to provide modern medical labs at the health center of Kufur Zibad, noting their gratitude to the donation presented by NBC and Mohamed Amin El-Saadi. He said: "the populations of the village and adjacent villages have always been in a dire need to such laboratory and medical services to have sophisticated medical tests. The development of Kufur Zibad health center will save the people of Kufur Zibad and the adjacent villages, who amount to 5000 persons, the trouble of travelling."
Abdul Ghani Morshed valued the efforts made by NBC at Al-Kafreyat area, especially at Kufur Zibad village, since the company established Cappy factory in the village. He asserted that supplying the village with an additional water line will solve the water outage problem in the summer in Kufur Zibad, Kufur Abboush, and Kour villages. Further, it will provide farmers with a permanent water source. He added that such project contributes in supporting the rural development at Al-Kafreyat area.
