Sareyyet Ramallah Female basketball team participates in West Asia basketball championship under the sponsorship of National Beverage Company Coca-Coal/Cappy and Munib R. Masri Development Foundation




Ramallah- Al-Hayat Sports - Sareyyet Ramallah Female Basketball Team will participate in West Asia Basketball Championship 2016.  The team was nominated to represent Palestine by the Palestinian Basketball Federation and will participate under co-sponsorship of the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/ Cappy (NBC) and Munib R. Al-Masri Development Foundation.
 
The championship to be hosted by Orthodox Club Amman will bring together five Arab competing teams namely; Al-Riyadi Club of Lebanon, Homenetmen Club of Lebanon, Orthodox Club Amman, Fuheis Club from Jordan, and First Sareyyet Ramallah Club from Palestine. The championship will continue at the rate of two matches per day until the twenty fifth of this month.
 
Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of NBC, emphasized the importance of supporting the women sports in Palestine and embracing talents who proved their potentials over the past years. He added that NBC is committed to sponsor the women teams in the various sports out of its belief in the sportive skills they have and the importance of maintaining the Palestinian participation in the Arab and international event and achieving the best achievements.
 
Mr. al-Hindi also asserted the importance of close cooperation between the sports institutions, Palestinian Federation, and the private sector to improve the level of female players and refine their skills, noting that NBC considers the sponsorship of sports and social youth innovation as a top priority  to contribute to building a solid base for the Palestinian sports teams, especially the women teams, and giving them a permanent opportunity to participate and prove their ability to compete, lead, and succeed.
 
On its part, Munib R. Masri Development Foundation stated that its contribution to sponsor the basketball teams came out of its commitment to support the sports activities in general, and women sports in particular, and to support the female to join this important field to develop and boost women participation in all aspects of life, including the sports which is considered a healthy approach of life. Munib R. Masri Development Foundation confirmed that the team has a significant opportunity to achieve successes and put the name of Palestine on the international sports map.
 
Mr. Jad Qandah, Vice-Chairman of First Sareyyet Ramallah Club and the Head of Sports Department, valued  NBC and Munib R. Masri Development Foundation sponsorship of the team’s participation and the support for the women sports in Palestine. He said he hopes the team will achieve good results in the championship.
 
He asserted the importance of Palestinian participation beside the professional Arab teams. The female basketball team is comprised of 12 players namely: Niveen Rashid, Naden Abu Ghazala, Rola Tanas, Malaka Ezz, Amany Youssef, Sally El-Galda, Nour Nabulsi, Raneem Nabulsi, Jenin Shehada, Zein Asmary, Reem Diab, and the Serbian player Foulik Boujana in addition to the coach Ibrahim Habash and assistant coach Talin Abu Ghazala.
It is worth noting that First Sareyyet Ramallah female Basketball Team won Palestine Cup many times and they participated in West Asia Championship, which was held in Jordan last year.
