National Beverage Company donates E-portfolios to the students of Carmel School at Nablus




Ramallah- Al-Hayat Economic - The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) donated thirty e-portfolios to Carmel Elementary School   in the old town of Nablus to meet the needs of the students of the 9th and 10th elementary grades in the practical application of the new curricula of the information technology course in an academic and interactive manner.
 
Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of NBC, confirmed that the donation complements NBC support to the education sector, especially in the local and marginalized communities, which the Company has upheld since its inception on the basis of social responsibility in order to contribute to achieving sustainable development and support for the education sector to implement the projects that serve the students. Mr. al-Hindi added: “NBC considers education as one of the key sectors that should be developed in the Palestinian society, as supporting modern educational projects in the school and university education stages  are on top of our priorities out of our faith that the sector is a key pillar to raise Palestinian generations who have the knowledge and culture, and can keep up with the global scientific and technological progress; so that we can contribute to enabling our sons and daughters to become the future leaders who can build and make the change for the better”. 
 
Mr. al-Hindi said, NBC is proud of such contribution to support the students continue the modern education process and get involved in the renewed digital world which is now an integral part of our day-to-day life, in addition to helping the students’ parents who are financially burdened by the cost of such new means under the hard living and economic conditions. He also indicated that the e-portfolios and digital tablets and other new means support the pedagogical and educational process
 
He affirmed NBC’s diligence and commitment to continue presenting the required support to the schools located in the marginalized areas which are attended by students from limited-income family environments, whereas NBC is keen to support the remote and marginalized areas and limited-income groups.
 
On her part, Ms. Qadreya Sherida, Principal of Carmel Elementary School, commended the significant support presented by NBC to the education sector. “We value NBC’s initiative to solve the problem of the provision of these- portfolios to the students and the prompt response to the request of the school administration so that we can follow up with the students and teach the information technology curriculum in an ideal way”, she said.
 
Ms. Sherida explained that the 9th and 10th grade students, who are distributed over 12th classroom sections, could not have afforded the price of the e-portfolio while it is inevitable and necessary, especially after changing the IT curriculum for these two elementary stages. She added that the E-portfolio will help the students to further interact with the IT curriculum theories as it contains small electronic pieces that help the students to apply the practical experiments easily.
