With Ramallah Directorate winner in the finals of the Female League,National Beverage Company and the Ministry of Education conclude the sixth season of COPA Coca-Cola League

Ramallah- The team of Ramallah Directorate took the lead at the conclusion of COPA Coca-Cola Female League, which was organized by the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/ Cappy in collaboration with the Ministry of Education. The team of Salfit Directorate came second in the finals which were held recently on the Hebron Municipality Stadium with the participation of four Directorates coming from all the West Bank governorates.
 
With the coronation of Ramallah and Salfit female teams, the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy and the Ministry of Education concluded COPA Coca-Cola League for male and female schools. The three-phase tournament used the five-team elimination system, with the participation of 1320 students from higher basic schools and 240 students from secondary schools.
 
Mr. Imad Al-Hindi, General Manager of the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy confirmed that “the NBC is keen to cooperate with the Ministry of Education to ensure the widest participation by the Palestinian females in the tournament every year, especially as we have noticed tangible demand for the football sport by female groups in Palestine. 
 
We aim to enable them to participate and compete regionally and internationally. We also believe in the importance of integrating females in sportive and physical activities in order to be able to prove their presence as professional players at the same level as their peers in the world and to get equal opportunities with male at the level of local, Arab and international competitions, which is in line with the Company's vision of the need to consolidate female sports culture in all generations of the Palestinian society."
 
Mr. al-Hindi expressed his great satisfaction with the success of COPA Coca-Cola League for the sixth year in a row, referring to the Company's keenness to continue to support such events as a main pillar of the growth and development of the sports sector, and to promote the role of youth in Palestine. "The NBC’s providing sponsorship for the tournament every year with a view to achieve a better effect, especially for females in the field of sports activities after refining and demonstrating their skills.  Therefore, the NBC will provide all the necessary material and moral support for females, and maintain their continued participation annually in the tournament.” He added.

 

On his part, Mr. Jamal Farhood, Director of Sports Activity Department in the Ministry of Education confirmed the Ministry's desire to continue its collaboration with the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy to organize such activities and events.
 
He thanked the support especially provided by the NBC to motivate females to engage in this sport. He pointed out that providing the opportunity and the appropriate psychological atmosphere certainly motivates girls to participate in this sport activity and demonstrate their skills.
 
"We hope that private clubs will be established, especially for females in all directorates to embrace female student talents, and encourage them to continue their effort to improve their football capabilities to attain professionalism." He added.
