National Beverage Company continues its Contributions in support of efforts to control Corona-virus

Beitunia - Al-Hayat Economic -In keeping up with its commitment to provide support to the Palestinian people and Government in controlling the coronavirus pandemic, the National Beverage Company Coca-

Cola/Cappy (NBC) continues its contributions to support the authorities of the governorates, towns, villages, medical and preventive teams, and security authorities by donating its products of mineral water, juices,

and carbonated soft drinks.

Over the past weeks, NBC continued to provide its contribution in those efforts by donating its products in the governorates, in cooperation with more than 35 government organizations, emergency committees, community institutions, charities, and local authorities. NBC also donated its products to the food package campaigns, which have targeted the quarantine centers at Jericho, Tulkarm, and Gaza, in addition to a number of villages, towns, and remote communities in the governorates of Jericho, Hebron, Tulkarm, and the suburbs of Jerusalem, Ramallah, Al-Bireh, Nablus, Salfit, Bethlehem, and Jenin.

NBC’s contributions are also intended to support the Palestinian security forces and the preventive medicine crews at the entrances of the cities by giving away its products, in addition to donating to the thalassemia and kidney patients, especially the children and their companions in many hospitals.

In line with the said efforts, NBC took the initiative and supported the crews of the Palestinian military medical services in order to contribute to preserving the health of the physicians and staff in such crews, and protecting them from the virus infection while they perform their duties in transferring the confirmed or suspected coronavirus cases to the hospitals designated for mandatory quarantine.

Therefore, NBC donated 80 pieces of protective clothing for the military service crews, and it provided a medication refrigerator to the military medical service clinic at Ein Munjed, Ramallah and Al-Bireh so that they can continue delivering the services to the people.

Since the beginning of the crisis and declaration of the state of emergency, NBC took all the preventive measures in its factories, branches, and warehouses across the governorates in order to protect its employees and their families. Such measures include providing prevention and disinfection means for the employees, and minimizing the number of employees in all of its work locations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip governorates. Further, NBC continues disinfecting its branches, factories, and warehouses on a regular basis as part of its compliance with the public safety criteria, product safety assurance, and consumer protection.

Concerning such contributions, Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of NBC, asserted that NBC continues its donations in support of the Palestinian families, especially in the remote and marginalized areas, and the government and nongovernment organizations, security and medical committees, and the local authorities, and other civil society organizations so that everyone can stand together in unison in such critical and tough situation and deal with such pandemic and stop its spreading.

Mr. al-Hindi added: “We stand together as individuals and institutions against the novel coronavirus. At NBC, we share the same concern and carry the same burden with the people and government of Palestine, and it is our duty to engage in providing anything we can to support these medical efforts which were manifested in this crisis, especially the prudent decision issued by H.E. President Mahmoud Abbas declaring the state of emergency in the right time to handle such pandemic, in addition to the efforts exerted by the government of Palestine which competently and proactively took preventive measures and procedures to protect our people from such pandemic, as well as the joint efforts of the people, the nation, and the institutions in such emergency situation. We pray to God Almighty to protect our people and our nation and to manage to handle such pandemic together and survive such crisis safely”.
