In line with its commitment to support people with disabilities, NBC furnishes the equipment of a gymnasium at Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Vocational Rehabilitation Center




Nablus- “Alayyam”:  The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) donated the equipment of the multi-purpose gymnasium at Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Vocational Rehabilitation Center in the city of Nablus, which provides rehabilitation and training to persons with disabilities in the city and the surrounding villages. NBC has equipped the gymnasium with sporting tools and equipment required for various sports such as basketball, volleyball, football and fitness.
 
The gymnasium was opened at the headquarters of the Center in the presence of Anan Al-Atira, Deputy Governor of Nablus, Amin Ennabi, General Manager of People with Disabilities Department at the Ministry of Social Affairs in Nablus, Alaa Esawi, representative of NBC, Eng. Mohamed Rouhi Al-Maani, General Manager of the Center, in addition to Sabah Al-Sharshir, Director of Social Affairs in Nablus, Rouhi Barakat, representative of the General Union of People with Disabilities, and Abdullah Hejawy, a prominent figure in Nablus.
 
Al-Atira expressed appreciation of this initiative which was initiated by NBC, stressing its importance and the need to continue such initiatives aiming at supporting the entities responsible for the welfare and rehabilitation of people with disabilities in Nablus and the surrounding villages, which are in desperate need for all forms of physical and moral support to continue providing their services with the highest quality possible.
 
On her part, Sabah Al-Sharshir said she was pleased with such initiatives like those implemented by NBC to empower the institutions embracing the people with disabilities and provide them with the best services and facilities.  She noted that NBC’s role supplements the programs offered by the Ministry of Social Affairs which support the people with disabilities.

 

Mr. Imad al-Hindi confirmed  NBC’s belief of the importance of supporting groups with disabilities at all levels; sporting, cultural, and vocational.  He noted that NBC assumes its responsibility toward the local community, being a national company that derives its vision and develops its projects based on the various needs of the people.   He added: “At NBC, we are aware of the importance of supporting the issues of people with disabilities in order to maintain our community as the community of cooperation, progress, and openness to all its components and groups. We are keen to contribute to providing opportunities to our sons with disabilities especially in the sports sector, being the core element of mental, psychological, and physical wellbeing.
 
 
Alaa Esawi pointed out that NBC believes in the importance of the sports sector being an important way to build the youth generation, self-development, and preparation of individuals to become an active potential in the society, especially the people with disabilities. He emphasized the importance of cooperating with the institutions responsible for the less-privileged groups with the objective of introducing qualitative initiatives where the charity mixes with the sporting and cultural aspects capable of contributing to achieve the humanitarian objectives of such entities.
 
On his part, Eng. Mohamed Al-Maani valued the support provided by the NBC to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Vocational Rehabilitation Center in the provision of services to the people with disabilities. He noted: “In the center we seek to help people with disabilities by providing them with the suitable vocational skills required to integrate them in the labor market. Therefore, we need all forms of support, especially as we look forward to boost our professional services continuously in parallel with our commitment to implement extracurricular activities such as practicing of sports which would contribute to drawing a smile on the faces of people with special needs, develop their mental skills, and refine their capabilities.
 
On his part, Amin Ennabi asserted that physical or mental disability cannot hinder people with special needs to achieve their aspirations or let off steam, as opportunities are available to all and they must be taken. He explained that by dedicating spaces for the people with special needs to practice sports and let off steam on things they like this can positively affect their psychological state which is part of the psychological therapy coupled with vocational rehabilitation process which can promote the students to learn and enable them to respond and get ready to be integrated in the labor market”.
 
Rouhi Barakat pointed out that the General Union of People with Disabilities is committed to its mission to follow up the rights of people with disabilities and it works to harness all its capabilities to empower the people with disabilities and integrate them in their local communities adopting the message of the Union “disability does not abolish potential”.
