Ramallah – Alayyam: The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy sponsored the Equestrian and Show Jumping Championship organized by Palestine Equestrian Club on its race course in Qalandiya, western north of Al Quds. NBC gave away valuable prizes, medals and trophies, as well as distributing various beverages to participants of 60 horsemen and horsewomen of different age groups who took part in this championship.
The Championship was concluded by distributing in-kind prizes to winners of the different groups; in the group of 110, Mayar Al Nipali won first place, while Ihab Jabara from Nablus Club came second. In the group of 100; Mohamed Jabor from Nablus Club won second place and Mayar Al Nipali came third. Then in the group of 90, first place was attained by Mohamed Jabor, while Sarah Al Sabaa came second and Waleed Ferenji from Palestine Equestrian Club in third place.
Malak Metwally achieved first place in the group of 80, followed by Farag Higazy, while third place was taken by Youssef Wahdan. All prizes earned under this group are related to Palestine Equestrian Club.
Mary Bro from Palestine Club came first under the group of 60, Farag Higazy second and Laith Ghazzi third.
Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy, stated that continuous support for equestrian championships is a core interest of NBC in enhancing youth and contributing with activating Palestinian sports; confirming that increasing number of riders indicates new generation's interest therein for advantages provided to riders in physical, mental and recreational sides.
Mr. Al Hindi stated that NBC interested in sponsoring individual sports in addition to team sports like football and basketball; especially that Palestinian youth is capable of innovation and achievements nationally and globally, if so supported.
On his part, Mr. Khalid Al Ferenji, President of Palestine Equestrian Club, praised NBC's sponsorship to various activities of Club further to tournament; indicating that the Club is keen to increase expansion of this sport in Palestine; stating that wide participation by different age groups in tournament will encourage Palestine Equestrian Club to pursue efforts and organize numerous events in the future in order to accentuate this sport and attract young talent.
