National Beverage Company Co-Sponsors Al Quds and Al Karama Championship

Ramallah – The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) co-sponsored Al Quds and Al Karama Football Championship organized by the Palestinian and Jordanian Football Associations between 19th and 30th of this month, March 2022, under the auspices of HE President Mahmoud Abbas and HH King Abdullah II. Six Palestinian and Jordanian teams have competed in the championship.

NBC announced its sponsorship of the championship by offering supplies of water bottles and juice packs necessary for the championship. Under the sponsorship, NBC products were the official beverages of the championship, hosted by Palestine in the cities of Al Quds and Hebron, at Hawari Bumadian Stadium in Hebron Governorate and Martyr Faisal Al Husseini Stadium in Al Quds.

Lieutenant-General Jibreel Rajoub, President of the Palestinian Football Association, thanked NBC for its part in the championship sponsoring, which signifies the role of Palestinian private sector companies in sponsoring youth, scouting and sports events hosted by Palestine.

Rajoub pointed that the sponsorship came from NBC belief in the need for investment in the youth and sports sector, which is one of the most important investment fields globally.  He hoping that other private sector companies will follow the steps of NBC and the other sponsoring companies in Al Quds and Al Karama Championship, and to always invest and sponsor Palestinian sports.

Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy, stated that “NBC is keen to sponsor Palestinian sports activities due to its strong conviction in the role of sports in the lives of Palestinian youth, particularly football”.  He added that the championship included Palestinian and Jordanian elite club teams which would enhance brotherhood relations between Palestine and Jordan, and also would allow Palestinian football fans to watch matches of high competitive levels.

Mr. al Hindi considered that the championship emphasizes Palestine's ability to host major sportive events and championships; in addition to emphasizing the Palestinian right to have their stadiums, as obtained after long time and extensive efforts. He pointed out that sponsoring the championship emphasizes and highlights NBC approach in supporting youth and sports to promote the sector to highest levels.

Ramtha Club, champion of Jordanian league and the runner up team, Al Wahdat Club, participated in this championship, together with Faisali Club, holder of Jordan Cup title; from Palestine, champion of northern governorates champions league Shabab Al Khalil along with Shabab Rafah, champion of southern governorate champions league, and Jabal Al Mubaker, the runner up of the northern governorates league, representative of Al Quds city in the championship. The teams were divided into two groups.

It is noteworthy that NBC has continuously sponsored events and projects that support youth and sports in Palestine, in line with its vision about the need to enhance such fields and empowering youth. Over the past years, NBC contributed in equipping several teams of different ages in clubs and schools; further to women football, basketball, equestrian and swordplay teams.
