National Beverage Company donates to Furnishing the Military Medical Services Clinic in Hebron




 

Hebron – In keeping with its corporate social responsibility to support the Palestinian Health Sector, the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) donate a contribution to furnish the Primary Healthcare Unit of the Military Medical Services Clinic, affiliated to the Military Medical Services Directorate of Hebron. NBC provided the necessary supplies and needs for the office furniture and equipment of the Unit after its renovation.

 

Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy said that NBC has endeavored to meet all the needs of the Military Medical Services Clinic to emphasize the priority of the Health Sector.  He urged everyone to exert every effort to alleviate the burden on such a vital and critical sector since the Coronavirus Pandemic's onset, The contribution by NBC to the Military Medical Services Clinic was a part of the corporate social responsibility adopted and practiced by the Company in the country's various governorates.

 

NBC contribution aims at ensuring the provision of the best possible capabilities in terms of medical care, especially under our current health circumstances, just like the whole world, due to the continuing Coronavirus "COVID-19" pandemic together with its resulting mutations. This, in turn, requires the continued support of the medical teams' efforts and the contribution to ensuring the medical sector's readiness.

 

Mr. al-Hindi emphasized the social responsibility scheme is a major role that NBC plays through its role in development. “We, at NBC, have always endeavored to assume our responsibility towards the local community and eagerly work to provide the necessary support to different sectors, including the education, health, relief, sports and development sectors, etc. We are well aware of the significant role we play in promoting development at various levels".

 

Mr. al-Hindi further indicated that such support would significantly contribute to enhancing the provision of high-quality sustainable medical services to the military personnel and their families together with the civilians benefiting from such a service for free. He also stated that "such support would assist in the resilience and strengthening of the health sector helping it address all and any challenges, stressing the primary healthcare significance to the individual, family and community health whenever properly provided as such care is the foundation for a good life and a prosperous national healthcare system.

 

Brigadier General, Dr. Montaser Sawali, the Medical Service Director, highly appreciated and thanked NBC for its substantial contribution and support to the furnishing of the Military Medical Services Clinic so that it can continue in its humanitarian and medical path. He further indicated that the unit was urgently in need of renovation and replacement of its damaged furniture with new and suitable furniture for use so that it can provide the military personnel and their families together with other civilians with its services effectively and in a properly healthy manner. Brigadier General, Dr. Montaser, also extended the greetings of the Major General, Maisoon Al-Banna, Director General of the Military Medical Services, to NBC for their appreciated ongoing support to the Military Medical Services.  

 

It is worth noting that NBC has continuously sought to provide substantial support to the health sector, that it has contributed to the furnishing and equipping with the necessary medical devices for a number of health centers.  NBC has also donated USD 100,000 to the Palestine Red Crescent Society and equipped a multipurpose sports hall at Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Vocational Rehabilitation Center. NBC further has established eleven children's libraries at the various Palestinian hospitals and children societies all over the country. The Company also has organized a set of blood donation drives, eagerly worked on the rehabilitation of the Hematology Department of Augusta Victoria Compound, and provided support to Dunya Women's Cancer Center. Moreover, the Company has organized fun days for children at the Palestinian hospitals in cooperation with the institutions concerned with children with disabilities and sick children. The Company also has held a Charity Dinner for the Non-insured Patients Support Project that was organized by the East Jerusalem Hospitals Network. NBC has donated an ambulance and medical supplies supporting the humanitarian relief efforts in Gaza, all in addition to other several health developmental projects.
