In an effort to preserve the Environment The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy is replacing its conventional vehicles with fully electric ones




 

 

 

 

As part of its strategy to contribute to environmental conservation, the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy has announced the complete replacement of its conventionally-fueled company vehicles with electric ones.

This step was taken in collaboration with Ritz Leasing, a company specializing in rental and leasing financing services, which provided the company with 15 fully electric Citroën Berlingo vehicles for use by the company's staff.

Thanks to this new initiative, the percentage of electric vehicles in the company's fleet has risen to 25%. Additionally, 10% of the vehicles are hybrid, and the reliance on fully electric forklifts has reached 65%.

Mr. Imad Al-Hindi, the General Manager of the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy, stated, "We take pride in this significant step, which is part of our ongoing efforts to preserve the environment and reduce harmful emissions." He emphasized the company's belief in the importance of environmental sustainability and safeguarding the Earth, aligning with the company's social responsibility to secure a clean planet for future generations.

Al-Hindi pointed out that this move is part of a series of steps the company has taken in recent years to protect the environment, such as reducing emissions. He explained, "Our transition from regular vehicles to electric ones is a crucial step towards improving quality of life in our society and others, as it significantly reduces greenhouse gas emissions, improves air quality, and promotes transportation sustainability and energy source diversification." He added, "The company also ensures that its industrial waste

 water treatment meets the highest global standards for agricultural use."

 

 

He further emphasized that the National Beverage Company is committed to providing the best products to Palestinian citizens with minimal environmental impact. The company adheres to global manufacturing and production standards, subjecting its operations to the most environmentally-friendly systems, in line with its core values of environmental protection and preservation.

"We hope that in taking this step, the National Beverage Company can serve as an inspiration for other companies and the local community to take similar measures in safeguarding our environment," Al-Hindi concluded.

He also added that the company supports community projects and initiatives aimed at promoting environmental awareness through active partnerships with relevant ministries, civil society organizations, municipalities, and local authorities in various provinces.

On the other hand, Ritz Leasing praised the strategic partnership with the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy and affirmed its commitment to providing sustainable solutions and cutting-edge technology to its clients. Sami Abu Yousef, the General Manager of Ritz Leasing, explained that electric vehicles are an ideal choice for the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy, which seeks to transition to a more environmentally-friendly transport fleet.

It's worth mentioning that the National Beverage Company recently received the 2022 TEXA Silver Award for technical implementation in packaging companies, focusing on the smooth supply of goods to markets, enhancing quality, food safety, occupational safety, and environmental protection. The company has also received several other awards in recent years in the fields of quality, occupational safety, and the environment. Notably, Coca-Cola’s Gold Award in Eurasia and the Middle East for value addition and environmental protection, and reducing energy consumption. In addition to its environmental achievements, the company currently produces about 10% of its energy needs through solar panels, with plans to increase this percentage in the future.
