In cooperation with Smile of Hope Association, National Beverage Company concludes a Ramadan Campaign to distribute food parcels in the Gaza Strip




 

 

The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) completed the distribution of hundreds of food parcels in the governorates of the Gaza Strip, in cooperation with the Smile of Hope for the Care of Cancer Patients Association, on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, aiming at reinforcing the principle of solidarity and support for poor families.

NBC delivered the food parcel packages to Smile of Hope Association that in turn would distribute them to needy families and children. The packages included food and food items needed and extensively consumed during the holy month.

Commenting on the Campaign, the General Manager of the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC), Mr. Imad al-Hindi, said, "Our duty in the holy month requires us to be supportive and helpful to the less fortunate groups in the society, in order to realize the solidarity concept of this holy month and achieve a state of integration among individuals and groups of the society,"  He indicated that the Company has constantly been keen, in line with its social responsibility, to reach needy families and sick children, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

Mr. al-Hindi explained that the Company carried out a campaign during the holy month of Ramadan that reached hundreds of families in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.  He pointed out that the partnership with charitable institutions and societies ensured access to the deserving groups.  He further stressed that private sector companies and civil society organizations have a major role in providing relief to needy families.

On his part, the Director of Smile of Hope Association, Mr. Sami Al-Jojo, thanked the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy for maintaining the campaign year after year.  He explained that such campaigns have been of great importance in supporting needy families, especially during the last month of Ramadan, which has passed under difficult economic conditions.  He stressed that the campaign sought to deliver parcels to families in the various governorates of the Gaza Strip. He called for concerted efforts by private sector institutions to support needy families, especially as Eid Al-Fitr was approaching.

Out of its role as a local company operating with a patriotic spirit and as part of its social responsibility; NBC seeks to enhance social solidarity, in support of charitable and community initiatives that aim to achieve the Company’s vision of social responsibility aimed at standing by and supporting the members of the society to contribute to alleviating the state of food insecurity.  That is in addition to its efforts to promote the concept of community work that contributes to improving the lives of families and society.
