Jerusalem Capital and Abnaa Al-Quds Share a Friendly Match Promoting Health Awareness and Community Solidarity

Jerusalem – PalSport News Agency: The Palestinian Sports Culture Federation and Jerusalem Capital Club are continuing their Pink October women’s football tournament under the sponsorship of National Beverage Company Coca-Cola. The sponsorship reflects the company’s commitment to supporting Palestinian sports and empowering young people, particularly girls.

The tournament took place over two days, Saturday and Sunday, in Beit Liqya and Jerusalem, bringing together four girls’ teams featuring players aged 12 to 16. It aims to strengthen the presence of Palestinian girls in sports, provide opportunities to develop their athletic skills, and showcase their talents.

On Sunday, the girls’ teams of Abnaa Al-Quds Club and Jerusalem Capital Club met at the Capital Club’s football pitch for a friendly match with an awareness-raising message. The match was attended by Eng. Samer Nusseibeh, President of the Palestinian Sports Culture Federation; Captain Firas Abu Mayaleh, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestinian Football Association; Lawyer Bahaa Al-Taweel, member of the Jerusalem Capital Club’s Board of Directors; Captain Amjad Hijazi, sports supervisor at Abnaa Al-Quds Club; Ahmad Al-Bukhari, Secretary of the Qudsna Association of Sports Federations and Games; and Ms. Razan Nusseibeh.

Over the two days, the tournament featured an enthusiastic and competitive sporting atmosphere, with closely contested matches celebrating the players’ abilities and promoting teamwork and fair play.

In his remarks, Eng. Nusseibeh emphasized that the tournament highlights the role of sports in serving the community, promoting women’s participation in athletic activities, raising health awareness, and reinforcing solidarity and social responsibility as part of Pink October activities. He also stressed the importance of women’s sports within the Jerusalem community and praised the partnership between the Palestinian Sports Culture Federation and National Beverage Company.

Nusseibeh concluded by emphasizing that the tournament aims to raise awareness of breast cancer prevention and the importance of early detection, reaffirming the role of sports in promoting health awareness and serving the community alongside its competitive purpose.

National Beverage Company supported the tournament by providing sportswear for the four participating teams, commemorative prizes, and refreshments from the company’s product portfolio. This support helped create suitable conditions for competition, encouraged girls to participate in sporting activities and tournaments, and expanded opportunities for them to develop their abilities and refine their talents. The tournament also included awareness activities marking Pink October.

Mr. Imad Al-Hindi, General Manager of National Beverage Company, said that sponsoring the Pink October tournament aligns with the company’s vision and commitment to supporting sporting and community initiatives that empower young people and girls, while strengthening the role of sports in character development and promoting cooperation, a sense of belonging, and teamwork.

Al-Hindi added: “At National Beverage Company, we believe that sports go beyond competition on the pitch. They provide a platform for building self-confidence, discovering talents, and fostering leadership and determination among younger generations. That is why we are committed to supporting initiatives that give Palestinian girls meaningful opportunities to demonstrate their abilities, pursue their ambitions, and strengthen their presence and active participation across various sporting and community fields.”
