Targeting orphans, patients and special-needs children National Beverage Company and Raya distribute gifts to children within the Eid and Farah Campaign


Ramallah-The National Beverages Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) and Raya for Media and Publishing Company launched the Eid and Farah campaign to celebrate with the orphaned and Special-needs children at shelters and nursing centers for sick children in a number of public hospitals. In cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and Ministry of Health, the gifts were distributed to children in the last few days of Ramadan with the aim of spreading joy and happiness to them in accordance with controls and preventive measures takenin order to protect against the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The campaign included the distribution of 600 various gifts, entertainment and intelligence toys to children in several governorates. The gifts were provided to SOS Children's Villages, House of Child Jesus, Girls' Care HomeandCreche Foundation in Bethlehem Governorate. Gifts were also distributed in the Pediatrics Department of Palestine Medical Complex and Jasmine Charitable Society for Children with Special Needs (JCS) in Ramallah and Al Bireh Governorate, while in Hebron Governorate, gifts were distributed to children in Princess Alia Governmental Hospital. Also, Gifts were distributed to orphaned children in Zahra Home for Orphaned Girls in Al-Eizariya, Dar Al Iman Orphanage in Qalqilya, Arab Society for Orphans in Tulkarm, as well as Arab Women’s Union Association in Nablus.
As for the initiative, Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of NBC, emphasized that NBC is committed to supporting all initiatives that will contribute to bringing happiness to patients, orphaned and Special-needs children, especially in the circumstances of closure and emergency situation due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus COVID-19. This outbreak has caused negative psychological effects on some children, soNBC has quickly participated in order to alleviate the children from the repercussions of these conditions and spread joy and gladness in their little hearts.
Mr. al-Hindi valued the continuous partnership with Raya Company, asserting that NBC is proud of this partnership and is committed to implementing these campaigns annually in partnership with Raya Company. He emphasized Raya’s role in promoting solidarity and supporting the local community, especially orphans, people with special needs and patients.
Mr. al-Hindi praised the role of Social Development and Health ministries during the emergency period to confront the epidemic of Coronavirus, and all the crews who continued working day and night in order to stand alongside our people. He also appreciated the cooperation with the crews of two ministries in distributing gifts to children in accordance with preventive measures and guidelines against Coronavirus (COVID-19).
On his part, Mr. Bassam Walweel, Chairman of the Board at Raya Company for Media and Publishing, confirmed “this is an annual initiative between Raya, and we have implemented this initiative for years within the framework of our responsibility towards our children in the governorates, especially orphans and people with special needs. We also try to continue it because it is no longer just an event but it is drawing inner joy in the hearts of children.”


Mr. Walweel added that the distinctive aspect of this year’s campaign was our ability to access some hospitals and pediatrics departments according to safety and prevention measures, and reach the sick children under preventive measures by hospitals.He thanked the Social Development and Health ministries for their cooperation and accompaniment with Raya crew during the distribution of gifts, especially in private care homes and orphanages. He also praised NBC’s commitment to these important events in such compelling circumstances.
