Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of NBC, asserted that NBC and Al-Tayf Dairy and Food Products Company “Candia” are committed to observe the food safety standards across all the production, storage, and transport processes, in addition to their commitment to the quality standards and compliance with the Palestinian and international standards in order to provide safe and quality products which the Palestinian consumer deserves.

“We contribute to enhancing the Palestinian food sector by feeding diverse products and wide options into the local market, through the provision of world class quality products, including yogurt, dairy, and cheese products, relying on the Palestinian cow farms and the Palestinian labor and competencies”, added Mr. Imad al-Hindi.

Mr. Imad al-Hindi said he is proud of the partnership with the Palestinian Society for Consumer Protection (PSCP) for the third year to mark and organize the World Food Safety Day, under the patronage of the Ministry of Health and other relevant ministries.

He said: “This partnership and sponsorship were not a coincidence, yet, they are an inevitable consequence of the optimal practices adopted by the Palestinian industries in general, and NBC in particular, from the farm to the consumer’s table, which is a big challenge for us that we managed to take on competently, knowing that Palestine does not control the entire food chain, but it includes some imported and ready-to-eat (RTE) products brought from different markets. However, we managed to develop a complete vision in order to procure the components of such a chain.”

According to Mr. Salah Hanieh, Head of the PSCP of Ramallah and Al-Bireh: “Our partnership with NBC dates back to the year 2000 and after that we held a partnership with Al-Tayf Dairy and Food Product Company “Candia”, through several events, most importantly, the event entitled Palestine Summer from the Bounties of my Country which is intended to promote the juice, ice cream, mineral water, and refreshments made in Palestine and it has been organized for the past ten years and this year too. Such events also include an initiative entitled From Us and to Us to Promote the Palestinian Products, and the activities held on the occasion of the World Food Safety Day in the past three years under the sponsorship of NBC, in addition to the awareness events in schools and university until the Covid-19 outbreak”.

Mr. Hanieh noted that: “Our publication (Consumer Voice) covers the PSCP’s main events and is issued simultaneously with the Consumer Day, the Palestinian Products Day, the World Food Safety Day, and the UN-Habitat Day, as we use experts in various sectors to enrich the research topics”.
