Palestinian Society for Consumer Protection to launch a Solidarity Campaign during Ramadan under the sponsorship of National Beverage Company
Ramallah- Alayyam - The Palestinian Society for Consumer Protection in Ramallah and al-Bireh recently launched its Ramadan Campaign under the slogan of “Fasting and Hope” with the aim of promoting social solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan. The Campaign will cover a group of needy families in Ramallah and al-Bireh cities within the resources available for the Campaign.
The Campaign will be implemented under the sponsorship of the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy (NBC) and its affiliate Al-Tayf Dairy and Food Products Company.
Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of NBC, said: “NBC sponsorship of this Campaign which was introduced by The Palestinian Society for Consumer Protection during the holy month comes in the context of alleviating the burdens of the needy families in view of the hard economic conditions facing them as a result of the coronavirus pandemic”. Mr. al-Hindi asserted that NBC is committed and will continue to support The Palestinian Society for Consumer Protection, including the creative initiatives that serve our society.
Mr. al-Hindi said he is “proud” of the partnership with The Palestinian Society for Consumer Protection and its achievement at the community, especially raising of the awareness of the Palestinian consumers, and encouraging the citizens to consume products made in Palestine which have proven their worth against other products of various formats and types. He noted that throughout the past years, NBC contributed to supporting a package of events introduced by The Palestinian Society for Consumer Protection such as: (From us and to us) Campaign intended to support and promote products made in Palestine, and (Spend your summer and Ramadan with the bounties of your country) which serves the same trend.
On his part, Salah Haniyeh, President of The Palestinian Society for Consumer Protection, valued the sponsorship provided by NBC for the Campaign.
Haniyeh extended thanks to all the sponsors of the Campaign, and asserted that The Palestinian Society for Consumer Protection at the governorate managed to build robust partnerships with many companies, banks, chambers of commerce, municipalities, and industrial federations. “As an organization that operates for the Palestinian consumers, we take pride in this pool of partnerships, which do not undermine our independency in defending the consumer rights and upholding all products made in Palestine which feature high quality and competitive prices”, added Haniyeh.
On her part, Samira Abdel Jawwad, President of Al-Bireh Ladies Club at Al-Bireh Association, described the initiative launched by the The Palestinian Society for Consumer Protection in the governorate as “important and qualitative”, and extended her wishes for The Palestinian Society for Consumer Protection to succeed in its Campaign during the holy month of Ramadan.
It is noteworthy that the Fasting and Hope Campaign is primarily sponsored by the NBC and Al-Tayf Dairy and Food Products Company, with contributions from the Near East Distribution & Marketing, Quds Bank, Jerusalem District Electricity Campaign, Nakheel Palestine Company, and Hidmi Food Industries
