National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy presents a rapid intervention vehicle to the Directorate of Civil Defense in Ramallah and Al-Bireh




 

Ramallah – Al-Hayat Economic - The Directorate of Civil Defense in Ramallah and Al-Bireh received yesterday from the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy a Rapid Intervention Vehicle. The Public Relations and Media Report in the Civil Defense stated that Major Murad Shbeita, Director of Civil Defense in Ramallah and Al-Bireh received today from Zahi Khouri, Chairman of NBC Board of Directors a fire vehicle that has been equipped by the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy.
 
The vehicle was handed over at the Company's headquarters in Beitunia, in the presence of Zahi Khouri, NBC Chairman, Imad al-Hindi, NBC General Manager, Rami Afaneh, NBC Human Resources Manager, and Alaa Esawi.
 
The report added that the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy has equipped the vehicle and restructured its external body components in order to deal with various emergency situations, which in turn supports the crews of firefighters and rescuers working in the field.  The equipment included a water compartment, water pump, as well as an electric motor generator, and a box of internal equipment needed for rescue.
 
The intervention vehicle is characterized by its small size and its ability to reach narrow places with tough terrain, which would enable the civil defense personnel to rapidly and effectively respond to emergency situations.
 
Major Shbeita thanked the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy for its initiative which comes in line with the plans of the Palestinian civil defense aiming to enable the civil defense staff and enhance their potentials to cope with the most extreme conditions as quick as possible.
 
Such plans cannot be implemented without the availability of modern equipment.  He added that this contribution by the Company shows the great care by our national institutions to provide security and safety for all members of the society by enhancing our potentials and provide us with the latest means and equipment to deal with various incidents, especially that winter is approaching. 
 
Shbeita conveyed the greetings of Major General Mahmoud Issa, General Director of the Palestinian Civil Defense and his thanks to the National Beverages Company Coca-Cola/Cappy represented by the Chairman of the Board, members and staff for their continued support to the Civil Defense, which in turn helps the working teams in the field and improve the efficiency of their performance.
 
Mr. Zahi Khouri stressed that the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy commitment to continue its active participation in the comprehensive development process in the society in spite of all circumstances and challenges experienced by our people.  
 
Mr. Khouri said that they, as a Company, move ahead in steady steps towards contributing to the advancement of the Palestinian society, its national institutions and all its sectors, especially to provide the necessary backing to support these institutions in order to serve the citizens. Today, we continue our support of the Palestinian Civil Defense in emphasis of this vision, and we are pleased to contribute to the support of Civil Defense to deliver its mission and endeavor to ensure the safety and security of the citizens, because we think of ourselves as being an integral part of Palestinian society.
 
On his part, Mr. Imad al-Hindi praised the continuing and constructive partnership with the Civil Defense Directorate in Ramallah and Al Bireh, adding that: "We, in the National Beverage Company renew our commitment to our people, through our permanent pursuit to support the ethical and national mission of the Civil Defense towards the citizens."
 
Mr. al-Hindi pointed out that the donation by the Company of a generator and office equipment to the Directorate of Civil Defense in the past year was a recognizable evidence of the strong relationship we have with the Civil Defense.
 
He highlighted the Company's efforts to continue such support to achieve the highest level of readiness and preparedness to deal with various risks, by keeping up the use of most sophisticated and capable vehicles and methods to meet the call of citizens and complete the duties related to rescuing them and ensuring public safety as quick as possible.
