National Beverage Company announces the launch of the 4th Phase of the "Ripples of Happiness" Project
 
RAMALLAH - Al-Hayat Economic - The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy, in cooperation with INJAZ Palestine, announced the launch of the fourth phase of Ripples of Happiness Project, which is implemented as a part of a regional project organized by the Coca-Cola Foundation and INJAZ Al-Arab in Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Palestine, aiming to empower young people and train them to make a positive change in the lives of their communities.
The Ripples of Happiness program aims to raise social awareness among young people and encourage them to create purposeful initiatives that make them socially-active individuals who are capable of drawing a smile on the faces of millions of people in their communities. The program also seeks to instill social values in the minds of university students, and incite them to take the lead in the action to develop the society through continuous planning and implementation of positive activities that benefit their entire communities.
This stage has covered Al-Quds Open University including its branches inTulkarem, Qalqilya and Jenin; Palestine Polytechnic University; Palestine Technical College for Girls in Ramallah; and the College of Al-Andaleeb in Nablus. The objectives of the project, as well as their implications for the students, were presented and explained. There were introductory lectures about the shortcomings of the community and the need to deal with them and create leading social projects that contribute to eliminating and solving such shortcomings. Then, applications for registration in the program were received from the students who are interested in participating.
Mr. Imad al-Hindi, General Manager of the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy, spoke of the project, saying: "We are pleased to have launched the fourth phase of the Ripples of Happiness project, through which we intend to create a new generation that takes the lead in supporting the national economy, by providing them with the opportunity to gain distinctive experience and ideas at the hands of experts and specialists, and involve them in events that are based on sustainability and aim to make a positive impact within their communities. This is what we have been striving to achieve during the previous stages”.
Mr. al-Hindi added that the project aim to encourage young people to engage in social issues and implement initiatives that will make a change at the community level. This is achievable by refining their management skills and encouraging them to provide several ideas and projects that will contribute to the building of a modern and advanced society.
On her part, Ms. Randa Salameh, the General Manager of INJAZ Palestine extended her sincere thanks to the Coca-Cola Foundation for its all-time outstanding initiatives, and to the National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy for its continued support for Ripples of Happiness project and other purposeful development projects, which shows the profound role played by NBC in the capacity building of focused generations that are capable of making a change in their communities through the initiatives and projects that are covered by the project activities.
Ms. Salameh stressed the important role played by Ripples of Happiness in the community through the projects and ideas that are proposed. Such projects will have a positive impact by preparing new well-trained generations that are aware of the importance of initiative in achieving development projects in partnership with the private sector.
