Coca-Cola offers scholarships at the Turkish Bilkent University
 
 
Ramallah - Special - The National Beverage Company Coca-Cola/Cappy and Injaz Palestine Foundation announced the provision of a scholarship at the Bilkent University of Turkey, for the fourth year in a row, with funding and support from Coca-Cola Foundation. The scholarship targets the third-year students at the Palestinian universities.
Bilkent University is one of the best Turkish universities and the highest in cost. It uses sophisticated and distinctive teaching methods. It has had a clear and tangible impact in developing the debate and research skills of the beneficiaries from the previous scholarships.
Applicants to obtain the scholarship must have completed the second year of study and have passed a certain number of college hours with outstanding academic grade, in addition to full proficiency in the English language. The universities will provide INJAZ Palestine Foundation with the names of applicants who are looking for the opportunity to participate in this scholarship. Subsequently, the Foundation will communicate with such applicants to sit for the required tests, which include the previously mentioned conditions in addition to direct interviews with the students to get to know the applicants’ characters better. Students from the universities of Bethlehem, Al-Najah and Palestine Polytechnic of Hebron were selected.
On the occasion, Mrs. Randa R. Salama, the General Manager of INJAZ Palestine, expressed her profound gratitude to Coca -Cola Foundation for funding this developmental project, which has achieved honorable results in the previous years. She also thanked the National Beverage Company that provided the required support for the project to ensure its success.
She added, "This scholarship is a great opportunity for the beneficiary students and plays a key role in the refinement of their personalities and bringing out and developing their skills, which would be an active and outstanding factor in the national economy in the future. This scholarship will also enhance their chance to enter the labor market.” She said that INJAZ aimed, through projects launched in partnership with the private sector including the NBC, to strengthen the relationship between the civil society and the private sector through corporate social responsibility programs to support all segments of the society, including the education sector.
On his part, Mr. Imad al-Hindi, the General Manager of the National Beverage Coca-Cola/Cappy said, "The NBC takes it upon itself within the social responsibility program of the Company to support the various sectors of society, including the education sector, to which the Company attaches particular importance because of its strong and effective impact on the society in general.  Therefore, we, at NBC, always strive to invest in our students through these projects to develop and improve their expertise to keep pace with the ongoing evolution in the education sector, which will ultimately reflect positively on the future of our national project."
He added that our students have overcome the difficulties and challenges that have faced them by continuing their education careers with high levels and distinction, which necessarily required us to support those students with all resources and ensure providing them with the opportunity to develop and advance their skills. Hence, the obligation of the NBC to support our students confirms the Company's vision represented in supporting this sector and that the scholarship experience will be a major turning point in the educational career of the students.  Mr. al-Hindi also stressed that the Company would always take the lead in supporting such projects and in standing by the students and helping them overcome the difficulties and challenges they face.
